The evil we do
History shows us our capacity for evil is not distant or abstract—it is human. We can lose ourselves to selfish ambition, where truth becomes blurred and what is wrong begins to feel justified.
And the further we go, the harder it becomes to see the way back. Not because the path is gone… but because we can no longer recognize it.
Evil carries weight. It leaves a mark that does not simply disappear. It spreads quietly—through pride, desire, indifference—and over time, it shapes what we accept as normal. And so the question is not whether we are capable of evil… but whether we can escape what it does to us once we are lost in it. Because apart from truth, we drift. And apart from truth, we justify the drift.
This is why salvation is not optional—it is necessary.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but to save the world through Him.” — John 3:16–17
Jesus is not just an example.
He is not just a teacher.
He is the atonement for what we have become.
The payment for what we cannot undo.
The way back when we cannot find the path.
The truth when everything else has been blurred.
And the life eternal when ours has been lost.
Without Him, we remain in our own selfish ambition— and we are surely lost.
But with Him… we are brought back into relationship with our Father—our Creator—restored to love, truth, and life eternal.
